Guantánamo (Redacción Solvisión) Con un acumuló de 6,5 unidades de nueve posibles y seis victorias, dos fracasos y un solo empate, el Gran Maestro (GM) villaclareño Aramís Álvarez (2557) resultó ganador del Primer Campeonato Nacional Absoluto de ajedrez Blitz (partidas rápidas), celebrado este lunes en Ciego de Ávila.

Aramís comenzó ambicioso en la primera ronda, donde doblegó con piezas blancas al Maestro FIDE (MF) Pedro Alejandro Jiménez (2440). Este empujón anímico le insufló energías y continuó por la senda victoriosa tras derrotar al GM Juan Borges (2475) y al MF Yasel Borges (2445), en el segundo y tercer cotejo de la jornada.

De acuerdo a lo informado por el Instituto Veracruzano del Deporte, Linda Rodríguez finalizó en el primer lugar de la categoría Sub 18 Femenil para dejar en segundo sitio a la representante de Poza Rica, de nombre Jéssica Méndez, mientras que Emma Ortiz, originaria de Jáltipan, ocupó el tercer peldaño del podio.

Además de la presentación dará una simultánea de 16 tableros al finalizar su presentación. Our daughter WCM Claudia Muñoz has accepted an invitation from Western Kentucky University in order to provide a presentation, to aspiring chess enthusiasts as well as teens and children, on April 20th about her chess life and travels around the world. After her presentation, Claudia will play a 16 board simul. Mr. Samuel Hunt, a representative of Western Kentucky University, also invited Claudia to stay for that weekend in order to participate in the 4th Annual Western Kentucky Open (http://chesscampeona.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=2760). A sizeable attendance is expected from several surrounding states. Claudia will be participating in this event as well.
